Lulu Xu is a Chinese Australian illustrator and interdisciplinary artist based in Sydney, with a passion for storytelling woven into every piece of her work. Her artistic journey began with a deep appreciation for whimsical and fantastical themes, which continue to inspire and shape her creations.
She finds great joy in the tactile nature of art-making, utilising mediums like gouache, watercolour, coloured pencil, and ink to bring her visions to life. In addition to traditional art, she's fascinated by immersive and interactive technologies like AR and VR with their potentials to revolutionalise storytelling. Lulu is currently working on projects that blend traditional art with immersive technologies, creating novel and captivating experiences.
Her academic background includes a Master's in Interaction Design & Electronic Arts from the University of Sydney, which has equipped her with skills to navigate the evolving landscape of art and technology.
Outside of art, you can often find Lulu hiking through nature trails, exploring new destinations, or simply getting lost in the charm of a new place, drawing inspiration from the world around her. She also hosts a YouTube Channel where she shares insights into her creative process, explores & experiments with new creative ideas.
